The GEPGeoq, coordinated by Prof. Dr. Tiago Osório Ferreira, is composed of researchers at various levels of education (undergraduates, master's students, doctoral students, and postdoctoral researchers), with national partnerships (UFC, UFRPE, UFLA, UFES, UFF, UENF, UFS, and others) and international collaborations (USC, UCR, OSU, and Texas A&M). Its main research focus is soil geochemistry applied to pedogenesis and environmental studies.

Dr. Bernardino, Associate Professor at the Federal University of Espírito Santo's Oceanography Department, specializes in coastal benthic ecology and deep oceans. With experience in over 13 scientific oceanographic cruises globally, including the Antarctic and Pacific regions. His research focuses on biodiversity, blue carbon, and trophic ecology, with ongoing collaborations in coastal ecosystems, climate change impacts, and ecological valuation in mangroves. Dr. Bernardino is an Explorer for the National Geographic Society and serves as an Academic Editor for PeerJ and Marine Biodiversity journals
